Diving Medical
A Sport diving medical in the UK is a comprehensive medical assessment that is required for individuals who engage in scuba diving or other forms of underwater activities.
This examination ensures that divers are in good health and are medically fit to participate in diving activities safely. It not only ensures their own safety, but also that of others in the dive community.
We offer PADI (professional association of diving instructors) and BSAC (British sub aqua club) medical certificates, which are completed by trained diving medical experts who are also keen divers. SSI and SPUMS medical certificates are also available.

What’s involved with a Sport Diving Medical?

- GP will enquire about the patients medical history, including any pre-existing conditions, surgeries, medications, or disabilities.
- Health questionnaire will form part of the appointment.
Physical Examination
- Blood pressure, Weight (BMI), Height, Pulse and oxygen levels will be tested.
- Discussion with a doctor regarding any existing health issues and medication
- Listening to the patients breathing and heart sounds with a stethoscope.
- Lung capacity and breathing will be checked using a spirometry test.

Once the examination is complete, the Doctor will make a decision as to whether the patient has passed or whether they require additional tests before receiving a signed certificate to take away.
These free re-tests may include another blood pressure reading at a later date if it is found to be too high at the appointment, or the doctor may want to review a copy of the patients medical notes from their registered GP.
